Frequently Asked Questions

Not sure if PMU is right for you (or even what it is)? Read on…

  • Cosmetic tattooing, micro-pigmentation, permanent makeup (PMU) or semi permanent makeup, has come a long way since it's early 90's hey day. With huge advancements in the field we are now able to create undetectable enhancements to a clients chosen features. This popular, safe, non invasive cosmetic treatment involves the skilled insertion of safe colour pigments into the dermis layers of the skin.

    “Is PMU safe?”

Your safety and comfort are our highest concern. Permanent makeup is applied using the highest sanitation and sterilisation standards available. Sterile, single use needles are used with every client. Your artist is to wear gloves and mask at all times.

    “Is cosmetic tattooing painful?”

Although everyone's pain sensitivity varies, there may be some discomfort. A topical anaesthetic will be used before and even during the process. Most discomfort is subdued with the numbing cream.

“How long does cosmetic tattooing take?

Each procedure will take between 1.5-2.5 hours depending on what is being done. Your PMU retouch appointment will be schedule for 4-6 weeks later.

“How long does semi-permanent makeup last?”

Depending on your skin type and care, the pigment in semi-permanent makeup will 'fade' slowly over 6 months to 2 years. For the best results ongoing, a cosmetic tattoo refresher every 1-3 years is recommended.

“Can I wear my regular makeup after the procedure is done?”

Yes, however we strongly suggest waiting 2 weeks after a PMU cosmetic tattoo procedure.

“What if I change my mind about my look later, is PMU easy to remove?”

No, but yes. The initial procedure will take 1-2 years to fade but it may never completely fade away. While laser has aided in the removal of PMU or tattoos, there is a chance it could darken it even more. Be sure to be completely sure this is a procedure you can live with for at least 2 years.

“Can you work over my previous PMU done elsewhere?”

Possibly, this is on a case by case basis. Please email us with clear, close up photos of your brows and we can take it from there. Alternatively you can book a free consultation and we can see what can be done.

  • Microblading is a manual method of implanting colour into the skin, simulation natural hair brows. 3D brow simulation mimics the width of the natural hair. Microblading is done using a very fine blade to deposit pigments into the epidermis of the skin.

  • Similar to Microblading, a Powdered Brow difference is that a needle is used to create a more makeup look, filled in brow. Powdered - or Ombre - Brows use a dark to light technique to create a pixelated/powdery well defined, modern brow.

  • If you have any questions or concerns, aren't sure what to book in for or something on this list applies to you, you can always book in for a free, no obligation consultation.

Unfortunately, Microblading isn't suitable for all skin types, as listed below. We have some amazing alternative options available for trickier skin types, such as an Ombre/Powder Brow:
